I have added 60+ screencaptures to the gallery of Celine’s emotional return for the first time since losing her husband Rene Angelil on January 14th. Through the grief she still gave the performance of a lifetime.
Celine was so gracious enough to let us her fans view the first 20 minutes of her emotional return to the Vegas stage on February 23rd. Although it was not easy for her she knew that returning was what Rene would want for her. As time passes shell gain the strength back from everyone around her who loves her. We are so grateful she let us see the opening of the show. 🙂 Watch it below if you want to see it again.
On February 23rd, 2016 Celine made her emotional return to the Las Vegas stage for the first time since her husband Rene Angelil’s death on January 14th. She dedicated the opening of her show to her husband with a touching tribute video that chronicled personal and milestone moments in Rene’s life from early days to managing Celine who later became his wife and the video went on to show him as the person he is most which a father and a loving husband. As soon as the video tribute ended the curtain opened and out appeared Celine who went on to sing Barbara Streisand’s “With One More Look At You”.
I have added 10+ photos to the gallery check them out now.
An emotional Celine Dion cried on stage as she returned to her Las Vegas residency with a tribute to late husband Rene Angelil
The singer performed for the first time since her husband’s death last month, singing With One More Look At You/Watch Closely Now at her show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Tuesday, which she live streamed on her website.
Celine broke down as she talked about her love for her husband and manager, who died last month at the age of 73 after a long battle with cancer.
She also sobbed during a heart-breaking rendition of her track, All By Myself.
The show began with a sweet montage of family photos and videos, before Celine launched into her first performance since Rene’s death.
After getting a standing ovation from the crowd, the 47-year-old teared up as she shared memories of her husband.
‘Through my life, I only had eyes for my husband, who sat out here night after night,’ she said.
‘People thought that I was looking at him actually, but I didn’t need to because every time I closed my eyes I felt Rene on stage with me.
‘Whether he was seated in his seat right there, in the balcony, backstage or at home with the kids, he’s always been onstage with me and nothing will ever change that,’ she said.
‘Rene always surrounded me with the very best people possible. I trusted him so much that I never really had the chance to worry about anything. Now I guess, it is only a natural impulse to constantly question myself. ‘Would you let the kids play with these toys? Is this song too fast? Is this song too slow? Don’t talk too much?’ she said.
‘It is pretty amazing that since he’s physically no longer with me, he is even more present.’
And she talked about how her husband had guided her career and had always treated her as if they were still on a first date
‘Rene was my very best critic,’ Celine said. ‘He never told me what I wanted to hear, he told me what I needed to hear.
You know, night after night on our way back home from the show, when he was so silent, I could sense that he was trying to know how to approach me without hurting my artistic feeling. But there were things that he had to tell me for my own growth,’ she said.
And she praised her husband’s loving and respectful nature.
‘Rene is the only man that I have known all my life. He always made me feel that we were on our first date,’ she said.
‘Never talking bluntly, and always impressing himself in a soft and gentle way.’
‘We were one and nothing has changed. We will always be one,’ she vowed.
‘You know, I might not hear his voice yet, but I talk to him, I think of him all the time. I feel, and I know he hears me, one way or another, I know he will give me a sign for his approval or not,’ she said.
‘And now, I can feel that he’s telling me to zip it – and start singing,’ she joked.
The show began with a photo montage of Rene as a child, young man and then home videos of him with Celine and their children: Rene-Charles, 15, and twins Eddy and Nelson, 5.
He is seen kissing Celine’s hand, offering her a coat, and placing a loving hand on her pregnant belly. His voice is then heard saying ‘Thank you very much, have a great one tonight.’
The performance was Celine’s first since the death of her husband, but she previously spoke about him at a public memorial in Las Vegas earlier this month.
The show began with a photo of Rene and a quote from Celine, reading ‘I understood that my career was his masterpiece, his song, his symphony.
‘The idea of leaving it unfinished would have hurt him terribly. I realized that if he ever left us, I would have to continue without him, for him.’
I have added HQ 100+ Screencaptures of Celine attending her husband Rene’s celebration of life that took place at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. Many spoke greatly about how awesome Rene Angelil was and at times made the audience laugh and at times Celine did seem to shed a few tears. David Foster performed “The Colour of My Love” in tribute to Celine from Rene.
I have added 10+ photos of Celine attending her husband Rene Angelil’s Celebration of Life at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas Nevada. People closes to Rene and Celine shared personal stories of Rene. During the personal stories Celine laughed and at times wiped tears from her face. Celine Dion attends Rene Angelil’s memorial ceremony at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on February 3, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada
I uploaded 8 photos of Celine attending her brother Daniel’s private service one day after burying her husband Rene Angelil. She unfortunately for personal reasons did not attend his funeral but rather said her goodbyes to her brother at his services.
Just one day after saying farewell to her husband, Celine Dion and her family mourned her older brother Daniel Saturday in Canada.
The family held a visitation at Salon Charles Rajotte, a funeral home in Repentigny, which is located outside of Montreal, for Daniel who died last week of cancer at age 59.
His tragic death came just two days after the singer’s husband René Angélil also died after battling the disease for years.
‘They’re close; she’s close with all of her siblings,’ a source told People.com of Dion, 47, and Daniel. ‘It’s hard.’
Dressed in a gray skirt suit with a black coat draped over her shoulders, the singer was pictured arriving with her sister and mother to the funeral chapel Saturday.
Family and friends will say their final goodbye to Daniel at a funeral Monday that will be held at the St-Simon-et-Jude parish in Charlemagne, Quebec, where the family was raised, People.com reported.
Daniel had been suffering from throat, brain and tongue cancer.
He was in the hospital in Céline’s native Montreal and surrounded by his family, including 88-year-old mother Therese when he died.
‘They’re close, she’s close with all of her siblings,’ a source told the Montreal Gazette. ‘It’s hard.’
‘His last days were in the wonderful care of the doctors and personnel at Maison Adhémar-Dion, a palliative care center in Terrebonne Québec,’ Daniel’s obituary reads.
‘For those wishing to send flowers, a donation to that organization would be very much appreciated.’
